All For Tiny Lives

Post Type

Our fundraising is currently at a fantastic 95%! We’re really, really happy about this. It’s takes a tiny bit of pressure off the challenge knowing the support is already there. I’m sat here thinking “How we can give this a little push to get to 100%?”

Well I love poetry. I’m absolutely NO poet but I sat here the other day and starting jotting down some ideas. I recently posted this to my personal Facebook wall:

This coming Saturday, we’ll be put to the test.

12 parkruns in one day? We’ll both try our best.

An early rise and hopefully finished by five,

Singing “Driving Home for Christmas” as we pull on the drive.

Three months later of planning and training.

Some six-day weeks, it’s been pretty draining.

This challenge would be easier if I was half the weight.

Unfortunately for me, I love my bait.

We’re not even runners, we’re both unattached.

Hopefully our pace will be evenly matched.

Our challenge is nothing compared to others.

This is for Tiny Lives and their Mothers.

The mileage is easy, it’s the stopping and starting.

I’ve apologised to Lee in advance of the farting.

Our legs the next day should be aching a bit.

To be totally honest, I don’t give a shit.

We’re doing this challenge for one reason only,

So these little fighters don’t ever feel lonely.

With all your support we can accomplish our goal,

Don’t think for a second that this will be a stroll.

At the end of each parkrun, we’ll give out high fives.

One by one, all for Tiny Lives.

We hope we don’t let you down and come up short,

We thank-you all for the continued support.

We really mean it, you’ve all been great.

Thanks again, dig deep and please donate.

Fingers crossed that this poem catches your attention. We’re in touching distance of our target and it would mean the world to us to reach 100% before Saturday.

Thanks,

Paul
