Don’t Judge A Book By It’s Cover

Post Type

I’ve unfortunately been roped into watching Celebrity Big Brother this year. I was fascinated to hear Casey Batchelor say “I don’t normally go for blondes.” It got me thinking…

I’ve never dated for over 16 years. I’m still attracted to Amy (she’ll be pleased to know) but what I love about her most is her honesty, her kindness and the fact she can make me laugh at the drop of a hat.

It was Marilyn Monroe that said

“Boys think girls are like books. If the cover doesn’t catch their eye, they won’t bother to read what’s inside.”

I started to think about what do I find attractive about a woman on the outside? Was it anything to do with her height, her weight, the size of her boobs or was it her face?

“Beauty is not in the face, beauty is a light in the heart.” – Kahlil Gibran.

I reminded myself of Casey saying “I don’t normally go for blondes” and concluded how shallow-minded she sounded. She’s talking about something that could be changed with a bottle and she’s potential losing a soul mate.

How would you describe beauty? Does hair colour matter to you? Does the weight of a person matter to you?

I’m guessing Marilyn Monroe was a size 12. Even though this photo is from the mid 50’s, I still think this is a healthy and beautiful looking woman.

I started my own fitness journey shortly after Adam was born, I wanted to become a fitter and healthier Dad. This made me feel much more confident about myself and in turn I’m a happier and healthier person for it. Why not take your own online health assessment and start your path to healthy living today:

I guess my point is this. Nobody should be judged as a book cover. Beauty is not found on the body but in your heart. If you are attractive, it may make it easier to meet someone but by being healthy, happy, kind and honest is how you keep someone.
