Feels Good, Does Good

Post Type

I’ve always had sensitive skin and in the winter months my skin is always very dry. I suffered with really bad eczema when I was a kid so I’ve always had a moisturising routine in place from an early age.

Sometimes my skin does react badly to certain food types. I’ve been dairy-free for the last couple of years and it has improved 110%. I do get prescribed medication for my eczema sometimes, only when it’s really bad. Once it’s under control though, I simply use a good moisturiser and that’s it.

I’m in and out of the gym at least four or five times a week so this could mean two showers a day. The warm water really dries out my skin so a moisturising routine is really important to me.

A brand I would definitely recommend is Vaseline. They offer a good range of body moisturisers and it’s now the only type I use.

The ranges they have available cover all parts of your body as they have different needs depending on your skin type and the weather.

I mentioned in an earlier post I’d come across a great website called mySupermarket. They scan all the shops to find you the best price across different supermarkets. For example, Vaseline Intensive Rescue Moisturiser is £5.07 in ASDA but is on offer at Tesco for £2.34 until the 21st of January 2013. That’s a saving of £2.73! Basically I can buy two at Tesco for the price of one at ASDA and still have 39p left over for sweets for Adam.

If you shop online and aren’t aware of this fantastic website, then I recommend you check it out now. I’ve only just discovered it but we’ve already saved quite a bit of money. It’s really easy to use and each time I go to the site I especially look out for products with a green thumb on them. The Vaseline moisturiser has one and it’s for ‘Savvy Buys.’ Savvy Buys are 30% cheaper than the average price so when you see the thumbs up you know you’re getting a good price. Each product has a graph so you can keep track of the prices over the year. Very cool! There’s also the option to make price alerts so I’ve added my favourite moisturiser to my price alerts so next time the price drops I’ll get an email about it so I know to stock up.

Thanks again and happy saving!

  2. You’re a passionate writer and I like the fact you’re not afraid to say how they feel. I know loads of men who wouldn’t own up to having a moisturising routine so good for you. Keep up the great work!
