Iron Mike

Post Type

It’s not every day you get to meet your boxing idol. On Tuesday night I came face to face with “Iron” Mike Tyson. It was a great night and even though it was rather expensive, I treat it as a once in a lifetime opportunity and I grabbed it with both hands.

I only found out I had a ticket on Saturday night and the day couldn’t come quick enough. I managed to get two tickets via Twitter from the event organiser. I immediately texted my mate Si and he said yes! We had a great night, I hadn’t seen Si for a few months so it was good to catch up. Si is also fitness mad and we shared gym stories most of the night.

Mike is nearly 50 now and you can obviously see that in the photo, but he still had that 20 year old look in his eyes. The look that he knew he could knock you out within the blink of an eye. He came across very well on the night and seemed very relaxed and happy. It was an amazing opportunity and one I’m glad I went to.
