New Year Fitness Regime – Make It A Team Effort

Post Type

A new year often brings fresh optimism about the 12 months ahead, with many resolutions revolving around the desire to get fit and become a healthier person. Maintaining a fitness regime isn’t however an easy thing to do, which is why by the end of January so many good intentions simply slip by the way side. There is though a way in which you can make the most of your good intentions and keep up your regime throughout the year, by making exercise a team effort.

The specialists at Rolltek International, who have been supplying trolley wheels to meet many sporting equipment needs for numerous years have highlighted a few reasons why joining a team to embark on exercise can help you maintain your fitness drive all year round;

Meet New People

One of the best things about joining a team is the opportunity you get to meet new people. As you get older, you can quickly get stuck in a bit of a rut with your family and the people you see at work being the only people you interact with, so joining a team enables you to meet brand new people, make new friends and get fit in the process.

You’re Not On Your Own

When exercising on your own, the determination and drive to continue to do it can begin to dwindle after a few weeks as you only have yourself for motivation. By becoming a part of a team though, you have a number of others to drive and spur you on to continue, and also have the awareness that you could be letting your team mates down if you fail to turn up. By knowing you are not on your own and that you have a team alongside you, all with the same goals, you are far more likely to stick to your fitness regime and see the desired end results.

Socialise

Following on from meeting new people when you come together as a team, you can also get out and socialise on a more frequent basis as you will have a larger circle of friends to go out with. From team nights out to meals and drinks following a successfully weekend of sport, you can escape the stresses and strains of everyday life by socialising with your team mates on a regular basis; whilst of course always keeping your diet and health drive in mind at all times!

Keep an Active Mind

Sport is a fantastic way of keeping fit, but is also an effective method of keeping your mind active too. Whether you choose a sport that is fast and frantic or something a little more tactical, you can get your mind working in a different manner to how you do at home or work, which will undoubtedly make you feel better for it.

Get Fit

Most importantly of all, you can achieve your New Year fitness goals by joining a team and sticking with that team. It isn’t easy to get fit but with your team mates around you and by embarking on a form of exercise that you enjoy, rather than simply being stuck in the gym for every exercise session, you are far more likely to reach your goals and feel better as a result.

With 2014 underway, make this the year that you join a team and stick to your resolution to lose weight, get fit and become a healthier person over the course of the coming 12 months; you won’t regret it.
