Pier To Pier Run 2012

Post Type

I received my number this afternoon for the Pier to Pier run 2012. If you attend, look out for me! I’m number 459. I’ll be the guy near the back thinking how on earth have I ended up running this?

Seriously though, I’m looking forward to it. I’m running it with Peter, who’s also signed up with me for Total Warrior. He’s been to the last couple of 5k runs too and he’s a very good runner. He says he’s unfit at the moment but he still runs rings around me! The Pier to Pier is about 7.5 miles or 12km. The race starts on the beach at South Shields and runs along the cliff tops to Roker. If the weather is nice, I’m expecting a nice run with fantastic scenery.

If any of you fancy a shot and are free on Sunday 20th of May 2012 at 10am. Get signed up and I’ll see you there. If you’d like more information on the run, please see the official Sunderland Strollers website here.

Stay fit,

Paul

About The Author

Following the birth of his son in 2009, Paul was unfit and sluggish. Since then he's been training using a range of exercise techniques and gained some valuable information over the years. Events he has completed to date are Total Warrior, Pier To Pier, Bamburgh 10k, Hamsterley 10k, Blaydon Races, Newcastle Stampede and over 50 parkruns. In 2012 he created his own challenge called the '12 Days of Christmas.' He raised over £1000 for Percy Hedley by running 60 miles to celebrate their 60 years. In 2013 he ran the '12 parkruns of Christmas' with friend Lee Nyland. The pair raised over £1400 for the Tiny Lives Fund.
