Fitness At Your Fingertips

Post Type

One in five of us don’t exercise at all with 75% of us wanting to exercise more. Powerful stats. Why do you think people don’t exercise?

I put it down to a handful of things, mainly these three:

  • Not enough time
  • Too tired – especially after work
  • The weather and time of year

So how can we address these reasons and overcome them? I can’t really comment on the second point as I don’t really know what you guys do for a living. However, the other points can be addressed and I’d like to introduce you to a brand new concept called Fittever.

Fitness At Your Fingertips

Fittever is an app that brings fitness to your fingertips. It streams live fitness classes to the comfort of your own home. Select the fitness class that suits you, your time and budget. Pay as you please, with no weekly or monthly contracts.

Here’s a neat little promotional video…

Having trained in and out of gyms for over 20 years, I appreciate they can sometimes be an intimidating place to exercise. Especially when you’re just starting out. I always feel that the time of year has a huge impact on how I train too. Picture those dark, cold days. When you think you don’t have the time to exercise or the gym is just too far away. What if you booked a class and it then gets cancelled at the last minute? This could be due to not enough people being in the class or the instructor has taken ill or is stuck in traffic. This actually happens! Fittever breaks down all these barriers…

  • Pay as and when you want
  • Sweat from the comfort of your own home
  • Repeat your favourite workouts
  • Attend classes from all over the world
  • Train by yourself or with a friend
  • Choose convenient times

My Experience

You can download the Fittever app (iOS devices only) for free. Simply fill in a few details to create your account and then you’re good to go. The home screen displays a feed of latest classes. As the app is still fairly new, don’t expect to see loads of options but I’ve been told they are adding classes all the time. Flicking through, there’s normally at least one class to choose from a day.

Fitness At Your Fingertips - Wayne

I decided to give ‘Spin With Wayne’ a try. It was easy to register for the class and I was given a notification just before the live event. Don’t worry if you miss it though as the stream is saved to your phone so you can watch it later. The class itself was really good and highly motivational. ‘Spin With Wayne’ should’ve been £2.50, which is a reasonable price when compared to other classes. Streaming it live does give that feeling that you’re actually in the room with Wayne. I closed my kitchen curtains and switched on the kids disco ball too! Nice choice of tunes too Wayne!

Amy has signed up to a new yoga class by Fit Club Studios London, so it will be interesting to see what she thinks. I might even join her in the class!

Free Taster Session

The guys over at Fittever have also given me a code where you can enjoy a free taster session. Simply use ‘TRYOUT’ to enjoy a free workout class. What have you got to lose? Let’s go!

I recently used England’s success in the World Cup as an example to inspire you. My love for football has evaporated over the years. Growing up, I was a die hard fan. I’ve always cheered England on in tournaments, always the optimist. People will watch and support football (and other sports) for many reasons – some will be positive and support, no matter the outcome. Some will be negative and criticise certain players for underperforming or the manager for his team selection. Whatever floats your boat. We all know sport in general is a game of ifs and buts. Football for some will be a few pints with the lads, or a family get together or even a holiday. I’ve done all three over the years.

This WC for me has seen my kids take an interest in football when they never have before. That may have had something to do with stopping up late one night, haha! The passion shown from the players, manager, staff and fans, has reignited my own love and the thought of what if it did come home? We all know what started off as a joke, brought a nation together and it nearly became a reality. It just goes to show, with a little drive and determination; you could accomplish the impossible.

Maybe you started the year off with goals in mind and for one reason or another, you haven’t achieved them. England made a semi-final for the first time in 28 years! Use this opportunity to reach for your goals once more and let’s try and go that extra step this time.
