Newcastle Stampede 2012

Post Type

I tweeted the other day that after completing Total Warrior, I needed a new event and fast. Well I’ve just signed up to a new one called the Newcastle Stampede and it takes place on Sunday 14th of October. It’s a unique and challenging event right on my door step and includes obstacles such as the Sheep Dip and Pond Plunge. It looks a fantastic course and is designed by the Royal Marines. It states on the official website that you will get wet and muddy, perfect!

A little bit of bad news though, Peter can’t compete because of work commitments! The good news is we’ve found a replacement and it’s my good friend Damon. He seems really up for it too, which is great.

We’re doing this event on behalf of the British Heart Foundation. Their vision couldn’t be much more ambitious, a world where people no longer die prematurely from heart disease. If you’d like more information about the BHF, please see their official site here.

If you’d like more information on the Newcastle Stampede, please see the official site here. We look forward to seeing you at the start line!

All the best,

Paul

About The Author

Following the birth of his son in 2009, Paul was unfit and sluggish. Since then he's been training using a range of exercise techniques and gained some valuable information over the years. Events he has completed to date are Total Warrior, Pier To Pier, Bamburgh 10k, Hamsterley 10k, Blaydon Races, Newcastle Stampede and over 50 parkruns. In 2012 he created his own challenge called the '12 Days of Christmas.' He raised over £1000 for Percy Hedley by running 60 miles to celebrate their 60 years. In 2013 he ran the '12 parkruns of Christmas' with friend Lee Nyland. The pair raised over £1400 for the Tiny Lives Fund.

  1. Good luck in the Stampede Paul. I can’t do it this year but I did it last year, very enjoyable! All the best, Barry.

  2. Saw it on the news, looked amazing and great fun! I’ll hopefully get in next year and see you there. David
