Balance The Body Calm The Mind

You may or may not have heard of CBD. It stands for cannabidiol, one of the many cannabinoids (or chemical compounds) found in marijuana and hemp. Even though it comes from marijuana plants, CBD doesn’t create a high effect or any form of intoxication.

With that in mind, I’ve teamed up with Dayzed, a curated platform for the CBD movement. You will find carefully selected products (the best of the best) from the deluge of CBD products in the UK market place. Dayzed are a collective of CBD enthusiasts, many of whose lives have been dramatically changed by the healing properties of this curative plant. So what’s the big deal about CBD? Well I’m about to find out!

I was kindly sent some CBD Muscle Rub and Cannabis Tea.

I have a branding background and I was very impressed with the packaging. It gave me an instant sense that these products were of the highest quality.

I strongly suggest you checkout the Dayzed blog. It contains some great information like how CBD oil is made and also a brief history of CBD.

Like lots of things out there right now, there seem to be opinions flying about all over the place. I always like to use trusted sources, especially online and there’s currently a great article on the Independent website. It’s basically about a boy who suffered up to 100 seizures a day and after being prescribed cannabis oil, he has none.

If you’re getting ready on a morning and someone tells you it’s raining outside but someone says it’s not. Do you believe them or do you poke your head out of the window and find out for yourself? With that mind, let’s find out for ourselves.

Body and Mind Botanicals include 10 individual biodegradable (vegan approved) teabags. There are 1.5 grams of organic cannabis sativa buds and leaves in each teabag.

The cannabis tea includes all the benefits of CBD, which has been shown to help people relax and sleep better. As well as being shown to help relieve stress and anxiety, it has also shown to help with inflammation with no negative side effects.

It’s important to use boiling water to extract the maximum amount of CBD.

Leave to brew for up to 20 minutes and cover if possible.

I really was as relaxed as I look in this picture, haha!

My lifestyle is always coming full circle. When I’m relaxed, I’m much more focused when I work out. When the two things are working together in harmony, I’m a much nicer person to be around! To balance my body, I calm my mind.

Now on to the muscle rub. Because I have such sensitive skin, I used this sparingly at first. With no reactions, I then used it as stated.

This CBD Muscle Rub includes ingredients such as sunflower seed oil, olive oil, grapeseed oil, tea tree oil and lavender flower oil. It also includes menthol to soothe and cool aching muscles. It’s 100% natural and vegan friendly.

I really loved using this muscle rub and the menthol definitely cooled my skin. I mentioned my sensitive skin, which is largely due to eczema and my body’s tendency to overheat. With all the natural oils included, it moisturised my skin perfectly. I think the combination of this muscle rub, alongside a regular sports massage would really benefit anyone looking to rest, recover and rise.

So what do I think? I’m honestly impressed. I’m always a bit skeptical of current trends and when I first heard about CBD, I was intrigued but I probably followed it up with an eye roll.

I do like natural properties though and when you look around at those trusted sources I mentioned earlier, there’s some seriously strong evidence kicking about that CBD does have all those health benefits it boasts. I personally think the strongest scientific evidence is for its effectiveness in treating childhood epilepsy. Then there’s the anxiety and sleep element, studies suggest that CBD may help with both falling asleep and staying asleep.

I’m happy to continue taking CBD but I do think we need to continue with more tests and evidence – as we do with a lot of things on the market! For example, can we pinpoint effective doses?

CBD is currently making all the right noises and with the largely positive press, don’t be surprised when you see it being added to beer and ice cream in the future.

Thanks for reading,

Paul
