The Unsung Hero of the Wardrobe

I’m delighted to be working with SOCKSHOP and they really do care about what you put on your feet!

Founded in 1983, SOCKSHOP claim “People should be able to buy socks as easily as they buy newspapers.” They are the unsung hero of the wardrobe, they can help you look good, feel good, have fun and keep you warm, cool, comfortable, dry, healthy and energised.

Whether you are walking, running or taking part in some other kind of exercise, socks are pretty much a necessity. Now I do have a little confession to make, I do weight train quite regularly bare foot! But we do lots of family walks and I run, so socks are still very much a big part of my wardrobe. SOCKSHOP don’t just sell socks however, they also sell a range of loungewear, tights and accessories.

I recently received a handful of products: A beautiful pink hat for my daughter, she absolutely loves pink! I got my hands on a bamboo lounge top and plenty of socks! Those included Superman, which reinforce the title of this blog post perfectly.

Shake Things Up

Lets start with the Lazy Panda bamboo top. Amy will agree, I do like to lounge around on an evening, haha! The first thing I noticed with this top was how incredibly light and soft it was. Bamboo is not just naturally better for your skin, it’s better for the planet too. As an eczema suffer, this bamboo top definitely ticked those boxes. I’ve neither felt too cold or too hot wearing this top. After some research, it seems that Bamboo can keep you dry and absorb three times as much moisture as cotton and with its superb breathability. It’s also able to automatically thermoregulate, adjusting the very space between fibres to make it the ideal temperature so skin always stays cosy, yet comfortably cool.

I don’t have anything else to say about this L.O.L. Surprise hat. It’s a case of a photo saying a thousands words.

Personal choice here but if I’m in shorts and trainers, I’m usually wearing trainer socks. Not really a fan of normal socks rolled down, each to their own though. These grandslam bamboo sports trainer socks are made from gentle fibres of bamboo. It makes them exceptionally soft, giving them a silk-like feel against the skin.

A quick word on sock colour, if you suffer from neuropathy – this is nerve damage in your feet and symptoms can include numbness and tingling. By wearing white socks you will help detect any open sores.

These Pringle full cushion sports socks offer complete foot protection with a cotton rich yarn. They are really great quality and performance suitable for any sports activity. I wore these on quite a few dog walks recently and found they were really comfortable. The cotton absorbs and controls moisture, for drier, healthier feet.

I’ve saved the best until last! These Superman socks are so cool. I’m not sure I’d have the confidence to wear these with shorts but they’re definitely a head turner when I’ve been lifting my jeans up to show them off! SOCKSHOP have a film and TV section so grab yourself some other characters such as Spiderman and Batman.

I’ve really enjoyed getting to know SOCKSHOP and I highly recommend their product range. Remember, socks do much more than prevent your shoes from rubbing and forming blisters on your feet. They provide an ideal environment by aiding temperature control. Thanks for reading and speak again soon!
